Going The Extra Mile for Rugby League

Help us to raise money to support the England Universities Rugby League team travel to the 2017 Rugby League World Cup plus raise funds for defibrillators and other equipment for community Rugby League.

May & June 2017

In July, the England Universities Rugby League team travel to Australia to take part in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup and need to raise £100,000 from sponsorship and player contributions to enable this to happen.  A Future In Sport have therefore been working with the squad's Management Team to devise a mass participation and sponsorship programme to help raise funds for the squad and for community rugby league.

The concept is simple - the distance from Chesterfield (where we have our office) to Sydney is 10,573 miles and we want your help in ticking off the miles to help us achieve our total.

You can swim, run, job, cycle your way to help up build up to our total, crossing off the miles until we hit the magic figure of 10,357.  Everyone taking part in the project will be given sponsorship forms to raise money along the way that will allow us to donate money to the England RL squad as well as work with our partners organisations to provide defibrillators and other equipment to give back to the community.

We will also be working with registered partners to set up a single mass participation event to bring the club and surrounding community together based at our site in Normanton.

Further information will be available shortly - in the interim, please register your interest using the contact form.

If you'd like to donate to the project, we have started a Crowdfunding page on the JustGiving web site.
